Vienna’s English Theatre in Freistadt: The Other Side of Goodbye
Students from the 1st to 3rd forms of the Technical College as well as the 1st and 2nd forms of the Commercial College have recently attended a performance by Vienna’s English Theatre at the Salzhof Freistadt.
The play, The Other Side of Goodbye, is inspired by the Greek myth of Orpheus and Eurydice and tells the story of sixteen-year-old Ella, who struggles with the loss of her father. Accompanied by her imaginative “spirit guide” Alix, she is forced to confront her grief and anxiety on the first anniversary of his death.
The performance combined humour and emotional depth while addressing important themes such as mental health, friendship and coping with loss. The authentic language and relatable characters made the play engaging and accessible for our students.
Overall, it was a truly valuable addition to our English lessons.
